First time at CCC?
An Important Note:
Government Regulations require that only Foreign Passport Holders may attend CCC and that each attendee wear a name tag while at church. Please bring your passport to be checked at the door. We thank you for your understanding.
Lobby:
As you enter the building you will be greeted by one of our members who will direct you to the welcome table. That's where you will find everything you need to get you started at CCC! Please fill in a sticky label name tag for you and each member of your family. If you would like a permanent name tag, fill in the details on the request form. You can also leave your email address should you wish to receive weekly information from CCC about our programs and events. If you need translation, please talk to the greeter at the welcome table.
Refreshments:
Some refreshments are available before the service, and the whole congregation shares a lunch together afterwards.
Children's Programs:
Sunday school programs are available for all school aged children, including middle and high schoolers. Please join the service together; there will be a prompt when the children's programs begin (before the sermon). All programs take place in side rooms; children can follow their leaders to the designated locations.
There is also a nursery area available for children aged 3 and under.
The Service:
We begin with a time of praise and worship in song led by our worship team. This time enables us to reflect and focus on God and get our hearts and minds prepared for spending time with Him.
After this is a pastoral greeting time, during which we invite first time visitors to stand up. We won't ask you to say anything! But we do want to acknowledge your presence with us. Offertory follows, and on the first Sunday of the month we share communion together. Then children who wish to attend the Capital Kids children's program are prompted to head to the children's room for the remainder of the service. This is also the time when the Youth Group (US grades 6-12/UK years 7-13) leave for their own gathering.
Back in the main sanctuary we enjoy a sermon, often part of a series looking at a particular section of scripture. (You can catch up on previous sermons on our website.) At the same time, a sermon delivered in Mandarin Chinese will begin simultaneously in another room..
After the sermon we sing a final song, a time to reflect on what we've heard and prepare to go out into the week. Our service concludes with a few announcements about upcoming events and a benediction.
After the Service:
We encourage you to stay a while after the service to meet people and share lunch with the rest of the congregation. Also, If you would like to pray with an Elder or prayer team member, they will be available at the front of the church after the service.
